Review by hotel critic
In a quiet setting on a residential main road, we recently stayed at a simple room-only accommodation that suited our family's needs. The room was modern and clean, offering essential amenities like a flat-screen TV, mini fridge, and coffee selection, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploration. During our stay, we visited Notts Hollinwell Golf Club, where my kids took a few swings while I enjoyed the serene landscapes. Bulwell Forest Golf Club also presented a lovely outdoor space for a family picnic, a gem for those traveling with children. While the absence of a reception might add a bit of a homemade feel, the hosts were accommodating and respectful of privacy. Despite the pub being closed and the building looking a bit forgotten, the overall experience was reasonably priced. This was a solid choice for families seeking comfort without frills while enjoying the local scenery.
